However we remember the fallen

Updated: Nov 8

As towns and villages across the UK get ready for Remembrance Day with poppy decorations that are mostly hand made over the year by dedicated local residents the outpouring of support and patriotism is encouraging.  At a time when it seems service and sacrifice has been forgotten it is moving to see all the poppy displays and the amazing work involved in post-box toppers.

It is a time for reflection and remembrance with many cadets, service men & women, veterans, Boy Scouts and Girl Guides taking part in parades, selling poppies and playing at railway stations.  It doesn’t matter how you remember the fallen, it can be sitting by a brother's grave with a beer, meeting up with your grandfathers friends and sharing stories, quietly sitting in church and praying, taking the minutes silence to give thanks for the freedom you have, whatever you do, however you remember and honour, as long as they are in your thoughts, stories and memories, they are not forgotten.
