Ride to the Wall - a remembrance service like no other.

ree

I thought I had done remembrance services before and didn’t see how this could be so different.  However, with the help of Jeff, Fin and Karen St Leger of Staffordshire Goldwing I was shown how wrong I was. Being able to ride in on the back of Jeff’s Goldwing amongst thousands of bikers was amazing.  The respect everyone had for each other was incredible, so many different branches of service, motorcycle clubs and individuals, all with one goal, to pay their respects to the fallen. The number of bikes was a sight to see but added to that was the hundreds of people who came by car and used the well-run park and ride system.  The chance to connect with veterans from both old and new units, visit other significant memorials and lay a wreath at the Wall made the day a mix of celebration, solemnity and respect. Thank you to Lorna and Karen for not letting me miss out on this experience, I will be back again next year.
