We are thrilled to be part of the Armed Forces Covenant and have been awarded the AFC logo, banner and inclusion in their register. The Armed Forces Covenants is a UK-wide pledge ensuring fair treatment for service personnel, veterans, and their families. It is a promise that together we acknowledge and understand that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, including the bereaved, should be treated with fairness and respect in the communities, economy, and society they serve with their lives.
Its two principles are that, recognising the unique obligations of, and sacrifices made by, the Armed Forces:
Those who serve in the Armed Forces, whether Regular or Reserve, those who have served in the past, and their families, should face no disadvantage compared to other citizens in the provision of public and commercial services.
As a veterans charity, we already hold those principles but being part of the Armed Forces Covenant adds another level of commitment and reinforces our promise to our Armed Forces and our supporters to treat all equally and fairly.
