A very busy couple of days for the EMF team.

Ed, who had been nominated for two awards at the Veterans Awards this year unfortunately did not receive the recognition he deserved for all his hard over the years.  However, all was not lost, we made new friends and connections, had a good time  and were able to let our hair down for a bit as a team and just enjoy each other’s company.

A day of travelling to the next location or home followed our monthly trustees meeting and Friday night saw us all in different locations getting a little bit of rest before the Ride To The Wall on Saturday.

Wheels for Wishes who were fulfilling the Empty Seat campaign arrived with the thousands of other bikers at the National Memorial Arboretum and the memorial, still surrounded by poppies and wreaths became the focal point again for those remembering and reflecting.

A wreath was laid at The Wall for the fallen and the ceremony was as moving as always; despite the glorious sunshine it was still very ‘dusty’.

The day was, as always, a great opportunity to meet up with friends, those you have not seen for a year and connect with our supporters wearing our merchandise.  It is always lovely to see our merchandise out and about, it gives us hope that our message is being seen and the word is spreading.

All in all a very full on but rewarding few days.  We are all home now, bags unpacked and dobie done though maybe a little travel weary!
